The Broad Stage plays outside on the plaza! From our annual community festival to smaller, hour-long gatherings, everyone can relax and engage in the Santa Monica sunshine. Highlighting local artists, bands, community groups and flavors, afternoons will be filled with music, dance and interactive entertainment for all ages.
Part performance, part party, all play. Whether you stay after a show or come for the afternoon, POP over to The Broad Stage for some homespun creative fun on the plaza. From music jams to poetry readings, these art experiences will liven up your day. Admission is free!
This free community festival kicks off the season with a celebration of the performing arts. Start on the plaza, grooving with a live DJ or making an art project, then explore the lobby, theaters and Music Hall for an array of performances and activities to pique your creative spirit.
The Broad Stage can also be found at a number of local events throughout the season. By bringing a performing artist or art making project, we offer support to community organizations, schools and parks.

The plaza environment for POP was designed by Santa Monica College student, Brianna Hernandez. She is a double major in Theatre and Architectural Interior Design and has created sets for several college theatre productions and short films. Brianna spent 10 weeks at The Broad Stage this summer as a Production Intern through support of the LA County Department of Art & Culture.
